Hey everybody! Happy New Year! Here's a quick snapshot of the year so far.....

Champian will be appearing every Saturday at Smoke Jazz Club for a Jazz Brunch. She will be playing and singing with the Renaud Penant Trio featuring Chris Haney on bass from Noon to 3 PM and there is NO Cover. Valentine's Day Champian will be appearing at her favorite venue in Central MA, The Cultural Center @ Eagle Hill in Hardwick MA. The week before Champian will be doing a radio interview on WICN.

Friday, November 20th, 2009 | Champian Receives American Music Harvest Award & the New CD
November 19, Champian received an award from the American Harvest Music Society for Best Jazz Vocalist & Pianist in 2009. (You can see a pic of the award in the photos section).

Also, Champian completed recording the new trio CD this week! You can read Champian's blog about the recording process and see exclusive pictures and hear mp3s off the board at Champian's Pledge Music page (click link).

Pledge Music is helping Champian to raise the $$ to complete the CD Project. You can pre-order a CD and, if you're so inclined, contribute money to the project for different incentives and exclusive updates during the process.

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009 | Hello everyone!
Hello everyone! This has been a very exciting 2009 so far! I had the privilege last week to sing, for the first time, at the Village Vanguard with Lou Donaldson and his Quartet. Accompanied by Randy Johnston, Pat Bianchi, Fuku Tainaka, and Lou Donaldson I sang "Pennies from Heaven" & "Darn that Dream" over the weekend. It was such a thrill to perform on that historic stage with one of my heroes.

Also - I am getting ready to record a new album for an Indie Label out of Arizonia. It's not final yet, but we are hoping to go into the studio in April. We are finishing picking out tunes and whatnot right now, but I think this will be an exciting record because it's going to feature some original songs and also some instrumentals. Stephen Fulton is going to play flugelhorn with us (my trio) and for those of you who have had the opportunity to see him live, you know that will be a treat!
