Thursdays in December, the Champian Fulton Quartet featuring Alex Stein will be appearing at RJ's Bar & Lounge in Bay Ridge Brooklyn.

This is a great new venue with a beautiful bar and a great sound system, and live Jazz Thursday through Sunday night! NO cover / NO minimum. Come out and party with us! Located at 88th St. & 3rd Ave, just off the 86th St. Stop on the R Train.

07.28.08 | Summer Vacation from Teak
Hey everyone! Champian, Alex, & Joe will return to Teak on the Hudson the first week of September. Teak will be closing its "brunch doors" throughout the month of August. But don't worry! Just mark your calendars and enjoy the rest of your summer vacation - see you in the fall!

06.20.08 | Champian's New CD!!!
Hey everybody! Champian's New CD will be released by Venus Records on September 23, 2008. The artwork is still being completed, but the cover photo will be one of the pictures taken by Valerie Cho. Stay tuned for some sneak-peak listening in July, and talk about the CD release party!

BTW - Champian will be in her homeland, Oklahoma, for the next two weeks - returning to NYC on July 7.

On July 17 Champian will be performing with Joel Frahm as part of Stony Brook Southhampton's Jazz Series.

Hey everybody! Happy Summer!

Tons of great stuff coming up this month -

First off, Champian & her Trio will be appearing for their FIRST time at the Kitano Jazz Club in NYC (see the schedule for details) on June 11. This is going to be so much fun and Champian has prepared some new material for the occasion.

Secondly, Champian is performing a tribute to Sarah, Billie, & Ella on June 19 at the Meadowlands Environment Center in NJ. This performance is going to be in a cabaret like setting, and the seating is limited to only 100 people. Reservations are required - please visit the website (http://www.meadowlands.state.nj.us/EC/events/index.cfm) to reserve your table and check out this beautiful location. Also appearing alongside Champian in this event is Joe Bussey & Alvester Garnett. We hope to see you there!

At the end of June Champian will be returning to Oklahoma for a couple weeks to perform. If you're back in the homeland, stay tuned to the website to find out the details.

Hello everyone!

Champian, Fuku, & Neal recorded their first album this past month for Venus Records (www.venusrecord.com) & it will be released this fall.

Champian had a photo shoot with the photographer Mary Jane Farnsworth & you can see the fruits of their labor in the photos section. One of these pics will be chosen for the album cover!

Keep on the lookout for more info about the upcoming release, and maybe even a few sound clips!

Also, be sure to mark your calendar for June 11 - Champian, Fuku, & Neal will be at the Kitano (sets at 8 & 9:45 PM)

03.18.08 | April News!!
April will be a VERY exciting month for Champian & her Trio! The first week, April 1- 5, Champian's Trio will be appearing at Dizzy's Club Coca Cola @ 11 PM each night. April 6 the trio will be at Smalls, followed by recording their first trio album that following week.

Champian's father, Stephen Fulton, will be in town that week and appearing alongside the trio!

And, last but not least, Champian will be featured in the Bosendorfer New York Piano Salon on April 24th, with a concert at 7:30 PM.

Champian had a wonderful photo shoot this past Sunday with up-and-coming photographer Valerie Cho! Several of these pics have been put up in the photos section & on the front page.

Also, there are new sounds! A track from the soon to be released Tobias Gebb & Trio West featuring Joel Frahm (Autumn Serenade), & a nice duo cut of Champian with the late great Dennis Irwin are posted in the listening section.

02.13.08 | A Note from Champian....
Hey everybody, hope all is well. Just a quick note to say hello and Happy Valentine's Day! :)

We are getting ready to record my next album this spring. Right now the line up is Fuku on drums & Neal Miner on bass. We're still picking out tunes and working on arrangements...but hopefully we'll be in the studio next month.

Also, thanks to everybody for coming out this past Monday to the Garage & also to Enzo's last week! Both gigs featured a new format for me - the Nat King Cole trio (sans drums). With Fuku gone to Japan for 4 weeks I will be doing my gigs in February with the great Chris Flory on guitar. We met in January and musically it is a great pairing! Hopefully Chris will make an appearance on the upcoming album.

Anyways, thanks for all your support and I will seen you soon :)

Hello everybody! Champian's website has been updated with new photos, a new itinerary, and a new section to feature press (including full length reviews).

Thanks to Fuku, Neal, & Stephen for making the gig possible; to Todd & the staff at Dizzy's for making us feel so at home; and thanks to all of the fans to bought CD's and came out every night to support us. It was a wonderful week and I'm sure we will be back in there in the near future.

We played 5 nights after Bucky Pizzarelli's Group (featuring Ken Peplowski) and I want to thank those guys for leaving us a full house to play to every night!

Champian's first album, with David Berger & the Sultans of Swing, has been recorded, mixed, and mastered! Look for it to be released on September 18. Pre-order, with a discount, will be available sometime in the following months.

Champian, along with 11 other New York vocalists, has been named a finalist in the Jazzmobile Vocal Competition. The final rounds will be held in various clubs around NYC throughout the month of June. Check the itinerary link for dates and places.

Earlier this month Champian recorded with the Stein Brothers Quintet (led by Alex and Asher).

Also, this past Monday, Champian went into the studio with her own trio (Jon Burr on bass and Jimmy Wormworth on drums). The tracks were recorded at the world famous Nola Studio in Midtown.

04.05.06 | Champian Presents the music of Horace Silver in Celebration of Jazz Apprecation Month
Champian is presenting the music of Horace Silver's "The Stylings of Silver" on April 26, at 8:30 PM in the Choral Hall of SUNY Purchase. The quintet will feature Louis Hayes on drums, Bob Kendall on bass, Stephen Fulton on trumpet, Ralph Lalama on tenor sax, and Champian on piano. This concert is free and open to the public in honor of Jazz Appreciation Month as celebrated by the Smithsonian. Please contact for more information or directions.
